Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy of Poland

Jerzy Witold Pietrewicz has held the position of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy since February 2013 and is nominated as a Government Plenipotentiary for Deregulation Reform. Mr. Pietrewicz is responsible for the government's deregulation initiatives related to the economy, the area of ​​renewable energy in conjunction with the state's climate policy, supervising research institutes - research related to the economy and working abroad Departments of Trade and Investment Promotion. He is a member of the Council of Ministers Committee and the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Governments.

In May - November 2014, he was chairman of the Intergovernmental for the Coal Mining Restructure. Since November 2014 - a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Centre for Research and Development. In the earlier period, Mr. Pietrewicz was for 8 years Vice President and President of the Management Board of the Bank of Environment Protection SA, as well as the President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, member of the Management Board of the Bank Guarantee Fund, and worked in the structures of the Polish National Bank and as an Advisor to the President of the Industrial Development Agency.

Mr. Pietrewicz is a senior doctor of economic sciences and is still active as
a researcher and teacher at Warsaw School of Economics, Institute of Market and Competition. Author of more than 80 scientific papers on issues of economics, the environment, the economy and enterprises, monetary policy and banking. In the years 2007-2011 - a member of the Finance Committee of Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Mr. Pietrewicz is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (1980) and the 2nd Summer School of the World Bank (EDI), "The Economics of the Market" (1992).
